Whether your store or business is strictly virtual or you have a standing business in an office, warehouse, or storefront, you need the internet to attract customers, and to appeal to them. In fact, most people use the internet these days to find everything, from the right plumber to their dream car.
This is why it is very important that even businesses that don’t do any business online still have an online presence. People are going to find you and follow you online. If they like you they are going to say good things about you online, and if they don’t they will say bad things about you online.
Blog after blog will tell you how important it is to have a blog for your business, and that is definitely a must. However, there is more to your site, even if you don’t have a sales page or shopping cart, than just blogging and article writing.
Don’t just include written directions to your brick and mortar business. Many people use their smartphones these days to find the places they want to go to, and they may do that by going directly to your website through a search engine. If you have an embedded map with your direct location on your site that they can click to get GPS directions from, you will have far more people showing up on your doorstep!
If you have multiple locations make sure to have a map available for each of them so that people can find you wherever they are.
Your map and address may seem like enough information for people to find you, but you also want to include some other contact information on your website if you have a brick and mortar business.
Include an email address, or even a contact form, for people that want to reach out with questions but aren’t fans of making phone calls. However, for a business that people may actually visit in person, a phone number is also a must. They may want to contact you while they are on the way, maybe to find out if you’re open or if you have what they are looking for in stock.
About You And Your Business
Tell people all about you and your business. People want to know why you do what you do, why you are the best person for them to go to for what you do or what you sell, and all about the things you have available. Include a page about the people who own your business, and an about page about your business itself. Also, include a page, or pages, that describe your products and/or services.
